San Juan, San Juan, Puerto Rico
Old San Juan is incredibly walkable. The entire old city is only about 1 mile long by 0.3 miles wide, so from the apartment you can comfortably walk to restaurants, cafés, historic sites, shops, and nightlife. For getting around the greater San Juan area, Uber is usually the easiest and most cost-effective option, and the apartment is located for easy pickup and drop-off. If you plan to explore outside the greater San Juan area, renting a car is your best option. If you do, we recommend parking in one of these nearby garages: 1. Multipiso Doña Fela Closest option, about 2 blocks away Covered parking Around $25/day 318 Calle del Recinto Sur, Old San Juan 2. Estacionamiento Paseo Portuario Right next to Doña Fela Usually a little less expensive Covered parking 315 Calle del Recinto Sur, Old San Juan 3. Multipiso Covadonga About a 5–6 minute walk Usually the least expensive covered parking Around $5 overnight Not very handicap accessible, as elevators do not always work Paseo Covadonga / Calle Juan Antonio Corretjer, Old San Juan 4. Estacionamiento La Puntilla About 3 blocks away Uncovered parking Often less expensive than the garages above, though spaces can be harder to find during business hours Calle Arturo Schomburg, Old San Juan Entering the garage name plus “Old San Juan” into your GPS should bring it up easily. Important: Do not park on the street in Old San Juan unless signage clearly allows it. Parking enforcement is strict, and tickets can be expensive.
